Personality
PRAGMATIC: This version of the Doctor knows that he has to make the hard choices, but the hard choices aren't always cushioned with kind words. He's good at removing himself from situations so that the burden of the decision falls on his shoulders instead of others around him and has said before that he doesn't have the luxury for outrage. He'll always try to save everyone but he also knows that sometimes the only choice you have is sacrificing some life for the greater good.

RIGHTEOUS: Despite grappling with the idea of whether or not he was a good person for the first chapter of his season, the Doctor realized that all he was trying to do at the end of the day was do the right thing. He's a 2000 year old being who has had time to develop his own opinions of right and wrong, and he's a stubborn man, but he can and is always willing to learn from others at the end of the day.

COMPASSIONATE: The Doctor has met so many different types of peoples and scenarios over his lifetime, but if given the choice, he will always err on the side of kindness. We see countless times how much he actually does care for people even if it's buried under the dry Scottish accent and furrowed brows. He'll willingly sacrifice himself and throw himself into situations so that others don't have to do the same and often dispenses humor to try and put others at ease (with varying results). His compassion is very apparent when he's face to face with children: he insists it's okay to be scared because it's a superpower. He will always be the monster that the monsters fear if it means saving or comforting others.

BLUNT: He doesn't mince words. Even in a dire or sad situation, the Doctor doesn't have much skill in terms of bedside manner. It can come across as rude, and regular social niceties are somewhat difficult for him to grasp although he has since gotten better at it. At one point with Clara he relied on the use of cue cards to try and guide him through situations so he wouldn't sound as rude.

MANIPULATIVE: The Doctor always lies. Always has, always will. It isn't usually out of malicious intent and it usually chalks up to what he thinks is best for the situation at the time. Despite being this silly, kooky man at times, the Doctor is incredibly good at orchestrating situations to run in the way that he deems it best.

SELFISH: The Doctor ran away from the Time Lords and shuns quite a few of their haughty characteristics. However, he's not perfect and can be at times, an incredibly selfish person. Even though he knows that time must pass and march on, he still clings to people and ideas just like the rest of us do. We see it when he loses Clara and he thinks he's lost Bill. The Doctor acts out when he's cornered and it sometimes results in him tossing aside any consequences that might come with his actions when he's upset.
First impressions
VISUAL: Stands at about 6'0"/1.83m. Looks like any variation of a rock and roll mad scientist. He has been described as an insect-like man with blue eyes, thin lips and furious eyebrows. His hair can range from anywhere to wire-like to a fluffy cloud.

AURAL: Glaswegian Scottish. Not as thick as you might think, but I suspect that he can play with the general drawl himself, or if he gets upset it might get thicker. He's very eloquent and prescriptive with his words but all of that is usually wrapped up in a harsher sounding tone.

A voice sample can be found here.

OLFACTORY: If he's not covered in some kind of oil from gears or tinkering in the TARDIS, the Doctor smells like parchment, aged wood, with undertones of smoke and chalk. If you could bottle time and stardust, I imagine that's what he would smell faintly of too.

DEMEANOR: A stern-looking, absent-minded, kooky looking professor-type that knows way too much about a bunch of different topics. Ever curious, ever questioning and always learning. Can be curt, grumpy and arrogant but always compassionate and always kind.
Psychic & Psionic Information The Doctor has very strong mental abilities and walls. Any mindreaders would have difficultly getting past them. Surface level feelings might be able to picked up here and there, but will largely sound like echoes and whispers, and are hard to grasp.

Empaths or those that can pick up auras will be met with a fog that feels like they're falling through space. Heightened feelings like joy or sorrow might peek through every so often and they'll peek through the fog as flashes of bright gold or a deep blue.

If you would like to opt-out of these abilities, please do so here!
Abilities Information for interactions with magical and/or telepathic characters; things they may sense or read, and whether or not your character has any form of psychic shielding.
